Living up to the buzz and excitement, India’s first Punjabi language superhero film, ‘Super Singh’, has had a victorious run at the box office, with a collection of Rs 11,75,00,000 in two weeks. The film was holding super strong in Week 2 and as per boxofficeindia.com “occupancy in cinemas in Week 2 was similar to Week 1 but it’s screenings were affected by Tubelight but it’s third week may well be similar to the second week making it the biggest third weeks in the history of Punjabi cinema!”
The superhero film is being loved by audiences and critics alike, with an audience rating of 81% on BookMyShow, 92% on Google and 73% on IMDB. It currentjy holds the record of being the fourth highest opening week collections of all time in Punjabi cinema, becoming fast popular with audiences who don’t speak the language as well.
Presented by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and produced Pawan Gill and Anurag Singh’s Brat Films, ‘Super Singh’ is directed by National Award winning director Anurag Singh and stars the youth icon of Punjab Diljit Dosanjh alongside Sonam Bajwa. It released worldwide on June 16, 2017.
