Stand-up comedian Kanan Gill to play lead opposite Sonakshi Sinha in ‘Noor’


We would now like to confirm that Sonakshi Sinha has signed filmmaker Sunhil Sippy’s next film titled ‘Noor’. The film is based on Saba Imtiaz’s popular novel ‘Karachi, You’re Killing Me!’ which revolves around a female journalist Aisha and her work struggles in the titular city. Sonakshi will be portraying a Karachi-based journalist in the movie.
For the lead male, a stand-up comedian and Youtuber, Kanan Gill has been finalized. The popular VJ, known for his YouTube series, ‘Pretentious Movie Reviews’ where he reviews yesteryear Bollywood films, will be playing a character similar to his brand personality. Though the movie is a female-oriented, his character is said to be an important to the script.
The shooting of ‘Noor’ will begin in October-November after Sonakshi completes Akshay Kumar’s ‘Namaste England’. ‘Noor’ has been planned to be wrapped within two months. After completing this female-drama, she will begin shooting for Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Ittefaq’ remake early next year.
