Sonu Nigam’s live concert in Mauritius a huge success

Just a month back we informed you all that Sonu Nigam was gearing up for his upcoming live concert at Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre (SVICC) on July 15 in the beautiful island of Mauritius. Finally, the day had come and he gave a breathtaking performance.

The live concert was a huge success, with more than 4,000 fans in attendance. It lasted for two hours, featured a wide range of Nigam’s popular songs, from the ’90s to the 2000s.

According to a report on lexpress.mu on 17 July, the concert ‘Sonu Nigam Live In Mauritius’ was packed. Although it was scheduled to start at 8pm, the concert started at 8:10pm because people were still coming inside the centre and this had created a stir among the audiences who had already taken their seats long back and did not want to be disturbed. However, all went well and the performance by the talented singer made the evening shimmering. Interestingly, the concert was not only attended by citizens from Mauritius, but also from around the world. It’s been reported that a few audiences made a long trip to Mauritius to listen and cherish their favourite musician live.

The 49-year-old singer opened the concert with a bang, singing some of his most popular hits, including “Sandese Aate Hai”, “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi” and “Soniyo”. All of his memorable songs from films like ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (2001), ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ (2003), ‘Main Hoon Na’ (2004) and ‘3 Idiots’ (2009) were performed from the heart. He then paid tribute to some of his musical idols, such as Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Jagjit Singh, by covering some of their classic and unforgettable songs like “Lag Ja Gale”, “Rahe Na Rahe” and more.

The audience was clearly enjoying themselves, singing along and dancing to Nigam’s spectacular show with his musicians. The show was a truly magical experience, as per comments on social media.

Sonu Nigam is not only famous for singing Hindi songs, but also known for Tamil, Telugu and Marathi songs. Apart from singing for films, he also has numerous Indi-pop albums and singles of his own, which are still cherished by his fans worldwide.
