Shahid Kapoor to play a cricketer in his new movie

Shahid Kapoor’s latest upcoming movie ‘Jersey’ where he will be playing a role as a cricketer is releasing on 5th November 2021. The sports drama film written and directed Gowtam Tinnanuri is a remake of his 2019 Telegu film of the same title. The film is produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi.

Beside Shahid Kapoor, the movie also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor. The remake of ‘Jersey’ (2019) was announced soon after the release of the Telegu version. The story is about a cricketer who quits cricket, decides to revive his career at the age of 36 for his son’s dream and prove his ability. Shahid Kapoor received thirteenth stitches during a scene shooting for this film though he later recovered.

The movie was supposed to originally release in 2020 but due to the pandemic, the production got delayed. Now it’ll release on the day of Diwali 5th November. The film wrapped up on 14th December 2020.
