Saroj Khan passes away at 71

Saroj Khan was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital at Bandra, Mumbai on June 17, 2020, with breathing complaints, and died of cardiac arrest at 1:52 am early on Friday, July 3, 2020. The legendary choreographer had severe diabetes and related illness and had tested negative for COVID-19. She was 71.

The veteran Bollywood choreographer is known to be the best choreographer in the Hindi film industry and has worked closely with Madhuri Dixit. Popular songs include “Ek Do Teen”, “Tamma Tamma Loge”, “Dhak Dhak Karne Laga” and the recent “Tabaah Ho Gaye” from ‘Kalank’ (2019). She is also known to have worked collaboratively with Sridevi on super hit songs in ‘Mr. India’ (1987), ‘ChalBaaz’ (1989) and ‘Chandni’ (1989).

Saroj Khan redefined choreography in Bollywood and can never be replaced. She has inspired many others to dance and become choreographers. Madhuri Dixit always stood by her side in good and bad days.
