Radhika Rao and Vinay made their directorial debut with the Salman Khan – Sneha Ullal starrer ‘Lucky – No Time For Love’ which was a moderate success at the box office. They had their second release, after a decade, in ‘I Love New Year’. The much delayed film did not see a proper release for itself and sank without a trace. Notwithstanding the disappointment of the failure of their last film, the director duo is back with ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ which is touted to be ‘a musical love story’.

The trailer brings back memories of several romantic dramas that Bollywood has churned out in the last two decades. The promo does not offer much novelty. What it does offer is a glimpse of the story with the help of some romantic, comical and dramatic moments shared by the lead pair Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane. While the gun-toting alcoholic Inder does not really register an impact thanks to Harshvardhan Rane’s deadpan expressions, you cannot help but empathize with the naïve and lovelorn Saru who is brought alive by Mawra Hocane. The film, which is being promoted as a musical (Himesh Reshammiya), might have some good music in store as the snippets of the songs one got to hear in the trailer came across as promising. The Arijit Singh sung track, which goes something like “Meri Har Tadap Ko Sukoon Mil Jaaye”, is something worth waiting for.

Though ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ marks Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane’s debut in Hindi films, both the actors have some good experience behind them. While Harshvardhan has done a few Telugu films, Mawra has proved her mettle in Pakistani dramas. The trailer is not something that has made one get all excited, but is decent enough to make one look forward to this romantic drama.
