He may be known for being a man who thinks commercial when it comes to mainstream Bollywood cinema. However, he doesn’t go by conventions when it comes to the casting of his films. Over the years it has been seen that producer Sajid Nadiadwala has tried out with different ‘jodis’ when it comes to on-screen couples. This is something visible in his next release Baaghi as well which has Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor being paired for the first time ever.

“The results are already there and appreciation is coming in,” says an observer, “One may choose to play safe and bring on tried and tested pairings. However, whether it comes to working with a superstar [Salman Khan] or making another film with a newcomer [Tiger Shroff], Sajid has believed in bringing something new for the audience. He trusted in Jacqueline Fernandez to deliver goods with ‘Kick’ (2014). On the other hand he has brought Shraddha Kapoor on board for Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi.”

Though in his multi-starrer Housefull franchise he has brought on different leading ladies for his set cast of Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh [Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon and Nargis Fakhri are the three heroines for Housefull 3, which has Abhishek Bachchan making an entry as well], even in his other films that have just one hero and heroine, he has experimented with his cast.

“Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan came together for ‘Hey Babyy’ and soon after, Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra were seen together for the first time ever in ‘Anjaana Anjaani’,” the observer adds, “However, one of the most notable casting coup was to bring together Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt for ‘Highway’.”

The trend has continued with Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for ‘2 States’ and Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon for ‘Heropanti’. Each of the aforementioned jodis have worked together for the first time ever.

“It will continue to be exciting because after ‘Baaghi’ and ‘Housefull 3’, Sajid would be releasing ‘Dishoom’ next. There too, John Abraham, Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez would be seen together for the first time ever. Post that, he would be gearing up for one of his most ambitious films till date, ‘Rangoon’. Guess what, that film too would boast of a never-seen-together cast of Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan,” an insider adds.

Well, none of that can ever be just coincidence and it is quite apparent that Sajid Nadiadwala, who is known for making multiple films on a go, is indeed thinking hard when it comes to bringing uniqueness in his films.
