Rishi Kapoor’s last film Sharmaji Namkeen is coming to add some spice on Amazon Prime

The wait is over! Finally the much-awaited ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ is coming to show us the Late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s versatile acting, as it is his last film. Rishi Kapoor took his last breath on April 30, 2020 at the age of 67, due to leukemia. The comedy film is directed by Hitesh Bhatia and it also stars Paresh Rawal, Juhi Chawla, Satish Kaushik, Suhail Nayyar and Gufi Paintal.

Amazon Prime has recently released the trailer of ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’, where we can see a story about a retired man named, BG Sharma (Rishi Kapoor), who belongs from a middle-class family and struggles to find purpose in his life to live after retirement, while his son (Suhail Nayyar) is seen quite demoralising him, whatever he does. But despite his son’s constant taunts, BG Sharma doesn’t give up in search of something in order to keep himself occupied. After several try outs, finally Sharmaji decides to become a cook and he starts cooking for a bunch of high-profile old women and finally feels his life is back on track. Now, we are eager to see how Sharmaji overcomes the judgements of his son, as well as the typical society.

During the shoot of ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’, Rishi Kapoor got severely sick and got hospitalised and to finish the film, Paresh Rawal came forward and took the initiative to play the part of Rishi Kapoor’s as BG Sharma. It happened for the first time, that the same character has been played by two legendary actors in Hindi cinema.

Rishi Kapoor’s wife, Neetu Singh shared a heartfelt message in a video of their son, Ranbir Kapoor on Instagram, where he shared the experience of his father, when Rishi Kapoor became severely sick during the shooting. Ranbir explained that how much Rishi Kapoor loved the film and wanted to finish it by his own. He also talked about how Paresh Rawal stepped in and helped them all in that crucial time.

Neetu Singh also wrote a heartwarming note in the caption saying, “This movie will always be close to my heart!!! I witnessed the excitement when he started the movie and how keen he was to complete it after the treatment.”

‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ will be releasing on March 31 on Amazon Prime Video.
