Rakul Preet Singh: From Bollywood to business, a true epitome of women empowerment

Marking her debut with the Kannada film ‘Gilli’ (2009), Rakul Preet Singh has captured such a big space in the South, that she is currently named under one of the most renowned stars in the industry. Not only in Kannada, she has also worked in a few Tamil and Telugu films like ‘Thadaiyara Thaakka’ (2012), ‘Venkatadri Express’ (2013), ‘Loukyam’ (2014), ‘Pandaga Chesko’ (2015), ‘Spyder’ (2017) and more.

After working in the South for five years, Singh made her grand Bollywood debut with ‘Yaariyan’ (2014) and within no time, she made a big impact on audiences with the film. Later she got chances to work with stars like Ajay Devgn in ‘De De Pyaar De’ (2019) and ‘Runway 34 (2022), with Akshay Kumar in ‘Cuttputlli’ (2022), with Ayushmann Khurrana in ‘Doctor G’ (2022) and with Sidharth Malhotra in ‘Thank God’ (2022).

Rakul Preet Singh is an actress, entrepreneur and fitness enthusiast. This is certainly true when it comes to her journey as an entrepreneur. For example, her first business venture was a fitness application, Fittr. This app was created to help people achieve their fitness goals and it has been a huge success. Rakul is also a co-founder of a restaurant, The Soho House. This restaurant is known for its delicious food and its commitment to sustainability.

The ‘De De Pyaar De’ actress is no stranger to the world of sports as well. She was a national level golf player in high school and she recently ventured into sports entrepreneurship by buying a stake in the Hyderabad Strikers of the Tennis Premier League. Singh was drawn to Wellbeing Nutrition because of its sustainable philosophy and its strong research-driven approach. She believes that the company is at the forefront of the future of food and she is excited to be a part of it.

Now after achieving such success even outside Bollywood, the young entrepreneur has recently entered the business of baby care products and became the co-founder of NewBoo, a range of biodegradable and reusable diapers for newborns. Some people may wonder why Rakul, who is not a mother, became associated with the company. The answer is, she believes that NewBoo is a way to make a positive impact on the environment while also providing parents with a safe and comfortable option for their newborns.

In 2021, she and Jackky Bhagnani went public with their relationship, putting an end to speculations about them dating.

The 32-year-old actress who is fond of travelling recently shared a glimpse of her trip to Kashmir. Taking to her Instagram handle, the actress documented her Kashmir trip and said, ‘The beauty of Kashmir should be experienced. I have shot for my film in Kashmir for 8 days and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The beauty of Kashmir, its food, and the way nature talks with us is simply amazing.’ Sharing the video, Rakul wrote, ”Kashmir – the joy of being in the lap of nature.”

Now once again coming to her acting career, currently she has been cast in for the much-awaited Tamil film ‘Indian 2’. It’s a sequel to Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian’ (1996), where Haasan will be playing the older version of his character Chandra Bose aka Senapathy.

The sequel to the comedy-drama film ‘De De Pyaar De’ (2019), starring Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh, is set to begin shooting as early as next year. The film will pick up where the first one left off, according to a report by Pinkvilla.
