Music composer Wajid Khan dies at 42

It is with sadness that the Hindi film industry took the news that singer-music composer Wajid Khan passed away at the age of 42.

Music composer Salim Merchant of Salim-Sulaiman duo, told PTI, that Wajid Khan had been admitted at Surana hospital, Chembur where his condition deteriorated. It was the kidney infection which got critical. He had a transplant some time ago and there were multiple issues. In the last four days, he was on ventilator.

Sajid-Wajid has worked on multiple projects since 1998 and mostly on Salman Khan’s films such as ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’ (1998), ‘Hello Brother’ (1999), ‘Tere Naam’ (2003), ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ (2004), ‘Parter’ (2007), ‘Wanted’ (2009), ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012) and the Dabangg franchise. Wajid Khan was a regular singer in his compositions.

The duo, Sajid-Wajid, recently worked on Salman Khan’s song during the lockdown titled “Bhai Bhai” and it was released on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
