Mira Nair’s adaptation of A Suitable Boy was one of the stellar projects on Namit Das’s slate in 2020. The series saw the versatile actor in the role of a shoe entrepreneur who is hoping to win the hand of a literature student, Lata for marriage. Only recently after Das won acclaim for the series, Nair shared a special memory of his screen test. She uploaded a photo of Das and Tanya Maniktala (who was seen essaying the role of Lata in the series) on the day of their screen test.
In the caption space of her social media post, Mira says, “This popped up today – the first time the suitable boy met the suitable girl – screentest – one sparked the other and it was done. Thank you for the love, Lata and Haresh, 2020 ka kamaal”
