In the early 2000s, Miley Cyrus was the queen of music. Amid singers like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, Cyrus achieved spotlight instantly due to her titular portrayal in the Disney show ‘Hannah Montana’ (2006-2011). Back then, the show was not only popular in the west, but widely famous around the world.

Even in recent days, Cyrus has garnered a lot of love for her songs “Flower” and “Jaded” from the album ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ (2023). Miley is the unique mixture of bold, strong and quirk. She’s mostly popular for giving frenzy and fierce performances in every concert.

But do you know Miley is not fond of doing music tours at all? It’s been nine years since she last went on a tour in 2014. Recently in a TikTok interview, ‘Used To Be Young’, the 30-year-old singer finally opened up why her fans won’t be seeing her on tours anytime soon. According to her, tours are not healthy and it erases her humanity.

“What people don’t really understand about touring is the show is only 90 minutes, but that’s your life”, Cyrus said. “If you’re performing at a certain level of intensity and excellence, there should be an equal amount of recovery and rest.”

She thinks that ego plays a big part in music tours and when it gets overused, it’s hard to calm down, “I think when you’re training your ego every single night to be active, that’s the hardest switch for me to turn off.”

“Having every day the relationship between you and other humans being the subject and observer isn’t healthy for me, because it erases my humanity and my connection and without my humanity [and] my connection, I can’t be a songwriter, which is my priority”, Miley further added.

Even back in May, she told British Vogue that she doesn’t like to do tours anymore because she doesn’t feel safe and lacks connection, although later, she clarified the comment on “lack of connection” on Twitter by saying, “For clarity, I feel connected to my fans NOW more than ever. When I win, WE win. Even if I don’t see them face to face every night at a concert, my fans are felt deeply in my heart. I just don’t want to sleep on a moving bus. It isn’t what’s best for me right NOW, & if you’ve been following my career, you know that I always change and the way I feel about that could too,” Cyrus assured fans, before referencing the title of her latest album. “Love you forever, I’m just on my Endless Summer Vacation.”
