Debutant director Gopi Puthran shows promise as he tackles a sensitive subject carefully. The cases of homicides and rapes are painfully disturbing and increase the impact to the audience. Rani Murkerji delivers a powerful performance and is armed with some good dialogues, even though not all the one-liners are clap worthy. Her action sequences, acting and fierce character render her a powerful hero. The villain, Vishal Jethwa, has a sadistic mind and is a clever criminal, who makes the police’s job hard to catch him. With a Rajasthani accent, the rapist delves deep into the character and is highly applaudable, despite little justification to his series of actions. With one monologue rightfully written and executed, good locations of Kota and a superb soundtrack and background score, Rani Murkerji impresses and is enough for the audience to catch this talented actress in this disturbing thriller in theatres.
