Maatr opens well at the box office

‘Maatr’ recently hit the silver screen on 21st April, 2017. With a strategic release in 350 screens in total, the film has made 40 lakh on its opening day at the box office. An A-rated film, ‘Maatr’ has truly held its own despite other strong releases like the ‘Aligarh’- 29 lakh, ‘Phobia’- 33 lakh, ‘Masaan’- 26 lakh, ‘Zubaan’- 5.75 lakh, ‘Laal Rang’ – 35 lakh, ‘Parched’ – 12 lakh and ‘Budhia Singh Born To Run’- 24 lakh.

Director Ashtar Sayed’s debut in Hindi cinema has been lauded for its stellar performances and of course hard-hitting plot. The show stealer Raveena Tandon lives to up to her character of a strict an avenging matriarch who wreaks havoc on her daughter’s rapists. She effortlessly slips into her character hurling expletives and simultaneously showcasing affection towards her women. Madhur Mittal’s villainous avatar of Apurva Malik gives us a break from his bizarre escapades, while Divya Jagdale and Alisha Khan’s performances are noteworthy! The performances of each cast member are being hailed by the audiences all over!

Boasting of a stellar ensemble cast from the likes of Raveena Tandon, Alisha Khan, Madhur Mittal and Divya Jagdale amongst others, ‘Maatr’ is truly the film to watch out for in 2017. A terrific trailer, strong word of mouth among st the audience coupled with power packed performances sure has made ‘Maatr’ the film to watch out for at the box office! With the long weekend, the film’s numbers are likely to go up.
