Love Aaj Kal Quick Movie Review

Director Imtiaz Ali struggles to get storytelling part right as the scenario is too complex. The movie lacks a consistent approach and the melodrama takes over. Kartik Aaryan receives the best opportunity to showcase his talent and he nails it. Sara Ali Khan’s chemistry with Kartik is highly commendable and she also tries her best to showcase her character in the best possible way, despite flaws in the script. The scenes with Randeep Hooda are provocative and moves the story but won’t help him in his career. Arushi Sharma is a revelation but does not receive enough screen space. Difficult scripts require sensitive handling and this is where the director fails as confusion triumphs at places. Meant to be a strong relationship-oriented story, the perplexing scenes act as a hurdle in developing the storyline. Nevertheless, the actors put in their best efforts. The dialogues leave the audience in a state of bewilderment. With average music and a young vibrant couple (Kartik-Sara), it is simply old wine in a new bottle!
