Lara Dutta Bhupathi expresses gratitude through a touching post as her debut film Andaaz completes 20 years

Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta Bhupathi made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Andaaz’ (2003), which completed twenty years today. Directed by Raj Kanwar, it also starred Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in the leads. Lara took to her social media account and penned a heartfelt note as the film reached a joyful milestone.

The actress expressed gratitude on her social media post and wrote, “And just like that…it’s been 20 years!!! Always grateful! First of all to the audience and fans! To @SuneelDarshan1 for offering me my first film. My dearest Raj ji for being the most patient teacher. My forever most handsome, @akshaykumar For just being who he is!!! @priyankachopra we’ll always have each others backs!. Ever grateful for what the Indian film industry has given me!.”

Post the success of her debut film ‘Andaaz’, Lara Dutta starred in several commercially successful films, including ‘Masti’ (2004), ‘No Entry’ (2005), ‘Bhagam Bhag’ (2006), ‘Partner’ (2007), ‘Housefull’ (2010) and many more. After a successful career as an actress in the Hindi film industry, the actress debuted as producer with ‘Chalo Dilli’ (2011). It featured Vinay Pathak as the male protagonist while Akshay Kumar featured in an important cameo.

The actress got married to Tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi in 2011 and post her marriage, she appeared in the British drama miniseries ‘Beecham House’ (2019). She was also seen in supporting roles in the Hindi films, ‘Singh Is Bliing’ (2015) and ‘Bell Bottom’ (2021), both of which starred Akshay Kumar in the lead.
