Advait Chandan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is the Hindi adaptation of the comedy-drama ‘Forrest Gump’ (1994). The film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in the main roles. The original songs are composed by Pritam whereas the film score is composed by Tanuj Tiku. The lyrics are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

The album opens with “Kahani” which went viral on social media as soon as it was dropped. Netizens were having a lovely time humming its tunes. Sung by Mohan Kannan, the song is warm and magical. It sets the tone of the movie with all its innocence. Penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the lyrics are beautiful with amazing use of piano.

“Main Ki Karaan?” sung by Sonu Nigam and Romy takes one down memory lane and compels us to revisit the moments in our lives that hold a special significance. The beautiful lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya adds more luster to the song. The use of live instruments, choir and guitar is exemplary.

“Phir Na Aisi Raat Aayegi” captures the everlasting emotions of the film. Sung by the king of melody Arijit Singh, this song is a treat to the ears. The musical arrangement and the wonderful use of strings is noteworthy. It is definitely one of the best love songs one has heard this year.

“Tur Kalleyan” is a melancholic song and showcases the emotional breakdown of the characters. The song is rich in lyrics and is beautifully presented. The use of guitars, bass and tabla is brilliant. Arijit’s voice is the plus one in it.

“Tere Hawaale” composed by Pritam and penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya is another amazing original piece of the movie. Bhattacharya did a brilliant job as a lyricist. The song is beautifully sung by Arijit Singh and Shilpa Rao.

Overall the album is brilliant because it has all original songs in and are wonderfully composed and sung. The songs are a delight to the ears and adds to the flavour of the movie.
