It seems Karan Johar is in the announcement spree. Recently he announced ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’ with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt and now he soon is going to denote yet another new project under his home banner. The producer-director has signed ‘2 States’ fame Abhishek Varman to direct his next film under Dharma Productions.
Karan indicated his new film announcement today on Twitter. He posted, “Happy birthday @abhivarman ….hope you’re all set to start your new film…announcement coming soon!!!”
Abhishek Varman’s film with Karan Johar is in the news for a very long time. A film they were planning together is reportedly a period love story set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pak Partition. It was titled ‘Kalank’ and was said to be very close to Karan as it was originally planned by his father Yash Johar. But the news about this film surfaced only in late 2014 and then there was no development about that.
We don’t know if it’s the same project or a new film altogether but there is a chance that it could be the same dream project of Karan Johar. Let’s wait for the announcement!
