‘Kantara’ (2022) proved to be a surprising hit among all the films that came out last year. The Kannada language film opened to a great response at the box office, and two weeks after its release, the film was released in the Hindi language by the makers. In Hindi language itself, the film proved its merit by grossing around Rs. 100 Crore.
Since its release, a lot of demand was seen among the audiences regarding its sequel. The film’s actor and director Rishab Shetty had revealed that the sequel of the film is in planning, and makers will share the update soon.
And now it seems that the wait of the audience is going to end soon, because the latest news is that today, on the occasion of Ugadi festival, the makers of the film have announced that the work on the story of the sequel has started.
Hombale Films, which produced the film, shared the news on their Twitter handle and wrote, “On this auspicious occasion of Ugadi & New Year, we are delighted to announce that the writing for the second part of #Kantara has begun. We can’t wait to bring you another captivating story that showcases our relationship with nature. Stay tuned for more updates.”

If reports are to be believed, the second part of the film may go on floors from the month of June this year and the makers are planning to release the film globally next year.
‘Kantara’ was directed by Rishab Shetty, who also played the lead protagonist in the film. The film co-starred Sapthami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar and Pramod Shetty in important roles.
