Young actress, Kailia Posey, who had appeared in the renowned TV show ‘Toddlers & Tiaras’ (2009-2016), passed away at the age of 16 on May, 2. Posey became most popular on the internet as the grinning girl GIF. The scene in the GIF is taken from the TV show, where she was wearing a blue printed shirt with creepy smile on her face at the age of 5.
Posey’s death was announced by her mother, Marcy Posey Gatterman on Facebook by saying, “I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone. Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever”, along with a beautiful picture of Kailia, wearing a sparkling side slit long dress. Few reports say it was a suicide, but there has been no confirmation from her family and her friends’ side yet.
Kailia had appeared and won many pageants, since the age of 3 and had first appeared at ‘Toddlers & Tiaras’ in 2012 along with her mother, as she further wrote, “She’s a pro when she hits that stage, she’ll say she’s nervous but once she hits that stage she’s a pro. She’s gonna beat you, every time.”
Kailia Posey had celebrated her 16th birthday on this April 20 with her friends and family and posted series of pictures on Instagram.
A foundation in her name has been recently made by Whatcom Community Foundation in Washington state. According to the People magazine, The Washington State Patrol couldn’t confirm the actual reason of her death yet but reported that investigation is still going on.
