Though director Subhash Kapoor could not fulfill his desire to get Shah Rukh Khan on board for ‘Jolly LL.B’ (2013), his ascending career graph (the failure of Guddu Rangeela notwithstanding) has made sure that his talent is acknowledged by the bigwigs of Bollywood. The director is ready with his new outing ‘Jolly LL.B 2’, the sequel to the sleeper hit Jolly LLB. This time, it’s Akshay Kumar, instead of Arshad Warsi, who gets to play the righteous lawyer from U.P.

Subhash Kapoor is known for making films which deal with serious issues but humour has been an integral part of all his ventures. The initial portions of the ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ trailer gives us a glimpse of the situational humour that one has come to associate with Kapoor’s films. While the humour, consisting of an altercation between Jolly (Akshay Kumar) and the defense lawyer (Anu Kapoor) is engaging, what gets one really interested in the central conflict of the film which one gets to see a glimpse of. From what one sees in the trailer, the sequel seems to be dealing with a much more grave situation that its predecessor. Though one wishes the trailer had focused a little more on the core plotline of the film, it succeeds in its intention of getting one curious about the film. The dialogue (Iss duniya ke sabse bade jaahil…) is bound to garner whistles and claps when the film (or even the trailer) plays in the theatre.
