Jean-Marc Vallée dies at 58, the director of Oscar winning Dallas Buyers Club

Famous director, Jean-Marc Vallée dies at the age of 58 on December 26 due to a sudden heart attack at his cabin, outside Quebec City, Canada. He was famous for his films like ‘C.R.A.Z.Y.’ (2005), ‘Café de Flore’ (2011), ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ (2013), ‘Wild’ (2014) and many more.

According to Variety website, his production partner, Nathan Ross said, “Jean-Marc stood for creativity, authenticity and trying things differently. He was a true artist and a generous, loving guy. Everyone who worked with him couldn’t help but see the talent and vision he possessed. He was a friend, creative partner and an older brother to me. The maestro will sorely be missed but it comforts knowing his beautiful style and impactful work he shared with the world will live on.”

Jean-Marc Vallée had won the prestigious Oscar for his film ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ for Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto. The film is a story about Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey), a rodeo cowboy suffering from AIDS and one day he discovers a banned drug that can help the AIDS patients survive longer. So to help the patients reach out the medicine, he forms a club to smuggle the medicine.

Jean-Marc Vallée made his debut in direction through thriller drama ‘Black List’ (1995). The story of the film is when a prostitute named, Gabrielle Angers (Genevīéeve Brouillete) hand overs her list of VIP clients, which contains some names of influential judges and politicians to the current judge, Jacques Savard (Michel Côté), after that some death threats and murder occur.

The whole Hollywood industry is mourning for Jean-Marc Vellée’s death. He is been remembered by many Hollywood celebrities with heartfelt tributes on all over the social media. ‘Big Little Lies’ (2017) actress Shailene Woodley wrote on her Instagram story, “I am in shock. Complete and utter shock. I guess somehow I know you will turn it into a grand adventure and one of the books, one I can’t wait to read and watch when my time comes. It doesn’t make sense though, dude. It doesn’t make sense. Maybe when we wake up tomorrow you’ll be there laughing saying it was just a satirical short film you made. That it’s not real.”

‘Wild’ (2014) actress Reese Witherspoon wrote on her Twitter, “My heart is broken. My friend. I love you.”

Matthew McConaughey posted a picture on Twitter with the director.

Jared Leto posted a picture with Jean-Marc Vellée and wrote that he changed his life.
