Several films have tried their luck today in cinemas and on OTT platforms. Let’s take a look at today’s theatrical and digital releases and their buzz among the audience.

Chatrapathi

The first theatrical release of today is ‘Chatrapathi’. Telugu actor Bellamkonda Srinivas is making his Bollywood debut with the Hindi remake of the Prabhas and S S Rajamouli’s film ‘Chatrapathi’ (2005). The actioner also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha, Sharad Kelkar, Bhagyashree and Freddy Daruwala and is directed by V V Vinayak. The film has zero buzz among the audiences and the primary reason is that the trailer and the songs failed to cater the attention of the movie goers. As a result, it has got a limited release in the Hindi belt and is expected to open at around Rs. 20 Lakh or below.

IB 71

Vidyut Jammwal-starrer ‘IB 71’ tells the story of an intelligence officer who plans to block the airspace to prevent an attack on India by Pakistan. The trailer has left quite an impression on the viewers. The film, directed by National Award Winner Sankalp Reddy, is carrying decent buzz among certain section of the audiences and all eyes are now on the word of mouth, which will decide its fate.

Music School

‘Music School’, a musical drama, is about the pressure placed on children by the education system and parents, leaving no time for art and leisure activities. It is directed by Paparao Biyyala and is shot in both Hindi and Telugu. The film features notable stars like Sharman Joshi, Shriya Saran, Prakash Raj, Suhasini Mulay and Shaan in key roles. The music is composed by the renowned Ilaiyaraaja.

Bholaa

Ajay Devgn-starrer and directed action drama ‘Bholaa’, which was released on March 30 theatrically, is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film had an underwhelming run at the box office and is available on the digital platform for rent.

Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway

Rani Mukerji-starrer ‘Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway’ had opened with positive reviews from the trade and the audiences on March 17 theatrically. The film fared well at the box office and is now available on Netflix.

Vikram Vedha

Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan-starrer crime drama ‘Vikram Vedha’ has finally released on Jio Cinema after a wait of more than eight months. Many who missed watching it in cinemas were waiting for its digital release and hence, it is expected that film will enjoy considerable viewership online. The Pushkar-Gayatri directorial film released on September 30, 2022 and was praised by the audiences and critics for the performances of Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan.

Meanwhile, last week’s release ‘The Kerala Story’ is performing phenomenally at the box office and has earned Rs. 80 Crore in its first week. The film is still the first choice of the audiences and the second week of social drama is expected to be bigger than the first week.
