Is the release of Mission Mangal being preponed?

When the announcement of the film, ‘Mission Mangal’ happened which meant the reunion of R. Balki with Akshay Kumar after ‘Padman’, everyone got really excited as the successful duo will be pairing up again for another film. Add to that, an exceptionally talented star cast of Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi and Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menon, was very welcomed.

The movie is based on the famous ‘Mangalyan Mission’ undertaken by India in 2013 and it being a movie on space and related things to the universe, the grapevine is that the buzz and excitement among the fan frenzy crowd is already building up.

The movie was slated for an ‘Independence Day’ release on 15 August, 2019, the Independence Day being a prime day when Akshay releases his movies. However, it seems like this year the plan might have to change for ‘Akki’. The month of August has many big films in queue already.

Just like 2018 was a struggle between Akshay and John Abraham for screens, 2019 could have been the same too as John’s ‘Batla House’ is slated to release on 15 August 2019.

Both ‘Gold’ and ‘Satyamev Jayate’ released on the same day and hence had to divide their screens, something which is never beneficial for any film. So it seems like keeping that in mind, Akshay and the makers don’t want to put anything at stake this time with this big movie and are hence planning to prepone the movie by a week, the new release date is 9 August, 2019.

The official announcement from the makers will follow soon and given the betterment of both the films, we believe it’s an amicable call taken for the mutual benefit of both.
