The industry and fans across the globe are still recovering from the jolt caused by the demise of legendary actor Vinod Khanna. The actor, who was suffering from advanced bladder carcinoma, breathed his last in a hospital in Mumbai yesterday. In a career spanning more than five decades, Khanna had numerous successful films like ‘Mera Gaon Mera Desh’, ‘Achanak’, ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikandar’ and ‘Mere Apne’ to his credit. In recent times, the actor was seen in films like ‘Dabangg’, ‘Dabangg 2’ and ‘Dilwale’.

While the actor’s presence on the celluloid will be sorely missed, fans can seek solace in the fact that they will get another chance to see him in a film later this year. ‘Guns Of Benaras’, a remake of the Dhanush starrer Tamil hit ‘Polladhavan’, features the actor in a pivotal role.

The film, as the title suggests, is set in Varanasi/Benares and serves as the comeback vehicle of star secretary Rakesh/Rikku Nath’s son Karan Nath.

Karan, who had last acted in Sudhir Mishra’s unreleased ‘Tera Kya Hoga Johnny’, will give his acting career another shot with this film that has been co-produced by sister Shaina Nath.

‘Guns Of Benaras’, which went on floors in 2013, is expected to hit the screens sometime this year.
