Here with a refreshing, new subject that promises to break the clutter and redefine the way ‘attractiveness’ and ‘self-worth’ is measured, ‘Double XL’ headlined by Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha, Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra, is all set to hit theatre screens on the November 4, 2022.
With the film’s release just around the corner, the makers hosted a special screening for some of the industry’s renowned directors, who showed up in full support of the entertainer that delivers an important message in the most light-hearted manner.
Present at the screening were prominent filmmakers like Kabir Khan, Farah Khan, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Krishna DK, Luv Ranjan, Vasan Bala, Nitesh Tiwari, Anubhav Sinha, Anees Bazmee, Vijay Krishna Acharya, Ashima Chhibber, Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and Ashish R Mohan among others, along with the ‘Double XL’s starcast.
Kabir Khan shared, “The film showcases a lot of issues and things that we see around us on daily basis which is said in a very subtle way. While they highlight them all, there are a lot of layers flowing underneath. It’s a very easy flowing film.”
Ashutosh Gowarikar applauded the film and the performances by saying, “The movie was absolutely fabulous. Both the girls are powerhouses of performances. For me the most touching moment in the film was when the two girls decide how to approach their problem as well as the support that they receive from the two male leads is also very very good. The film talks about how everyone has their own traits and drawbacks due to exterior perception. Despite all of that it says ‘accept me for who I am’. I think I really like this message in the film and I wish the team all the very best.”
Anees Bazmee shared his review saying, “I find it a very beautiful subject and it’s both emotional and entertaining. It is definitely something that will induce confidence in people who go through such things. I am really glad that they touched on this subject and made a great film out of it.”
Farah Khan shared her views from the film saying, “The film is really cute and I identified with it being a ‘Double XL’ myself. I think all of us who are constantly dieting and trying to lose weight will definitely identify with this.”
Anubhav Sinha said, “I really like the movie a lot and it’s something new and fresh. I can relate to the movie on a very personal level as I am in the same situation myself body wise and have experienced these issues myself.”
The film is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, Wakaoo Films and Mudassar Aziz in association with T-Series Films and is directed by Satramm Ramani. ‘Double XL’ is a Wakaoo Films, Elemen3 Entertainment and Reclining Seats Cinema Production.
