Hansal Mehta’s upcoming hostage drama, ‘Faraaz’ has become a talking point ever since its powerful trailer dropped on social media. The film’s unflinching take on bigotry, through its protagonist, Faraaz, who stood tall against a bunch of terrorists, has gripped people who look at films for hope as much as they do for escapism.

Earlier today, the makers released the film’s first track “Musafir Ko” and the song’s words accompanied by a melancholic tune is bound to sear through your heart. Unveiling it on social media, the song was dropped by the makers with the caption, “Musafir Ko ghar hi jaana hain. Let this song by @sameerrahat envelope you like a warm gentle breeze on a cold winter night. Proud to present this song from #Faraaz. Releasing on February 3 at a cinema near you.”

Composed and co-produced by Sameer Rahat, sung by Vidhya Gopal and lyrics penned by Rahat, “Musafir Ko” succinctly captures the film’s theme and speaks about a broader reality that goes beyond the materialistic.

While the film is a week away from release, going by the reviews that are coming from those who’ve caught the film’s special screenings, ‘Faraaz’ appears to be headed for victory. The captivating visuals heighten the sense of claustrophobia, making you feel like you’re witnessing the crisis intimately and not just as a mere spectator.

Alia Bhatt, Neetu Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, among others, were all praises for the film, especially the performances, and were seen getting emotional after watching the film.

‘Faraaz’, directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Anubhav Sinha, Sakshi Bhatt, Sahil Saigal and Mazahir Mandsaurwala of T-Series and Benaras Mediaworks, in association with Mahana Films, starring Zahan Kapoor, Aditya Rawal, Juhi Babbar, Aamir Ali, Sachin Lalwani, Pallak Lalwani and Reshham Sahaani, is set to release on February 3, 2023.
