Dirk Benedict who ruled the ‘70s and ‘80s both in films and TV series turns 77

Dirk Benedict, best known for his role as Lieutenant Starbuck from ‘Battlestar Galactica’ in 1978, turned 77 years old on March 1. Born in Helena, Montana, the veteran star got his first break through TV series. He started his career in the ‘70s and became one of the most renowned actors in Hollywood in the ‘80s and ‘90s.

He was first seen in ‘Hawaii Five-O’ TV series and ‘Georgia, Georgia’ film, both in the same year 1972. After that he has given numerous notable films one-after-one including ‘Sssssss’ (1973), ‘W’ (1974), ‘Scavenger Hunt’ (1979), ‘Underground Aces’ (1981), ‘Blue Tornado’ (1991), ‘Shadow Force’ (1992), ‘Alaska’ (1996) and many more.

He has had also kept doing many remarkable TV series in the same era side-by-side like ‘Chopper One’ (1974), ‘Charlie’s Angels’ (1977), ‘Galactica 1980’ (1980), ‘The Love Boat’ (1980), ‘The A-Team’ (1983-1987), ‘Trenchcoat In Paradise’ (1989), ‘Baywatch’ (1992), among others. He had a cameo appearance in the 2010 movie version of ‘The A-Team’ series. Dirk was last seen in ‘Charlie’s Christmas Wish’ in 2020.
