Om Raut, who is a celebrated director in the Indian film industry, recently attended a G20 event attended by the Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis and a number of political personalities. He was one of the guests at the event who addressed the Northeast Indian students and interacted with them. While talking to the students, Om Raut invited them to visit his film set the next time they would come to Mumbai.

Om Raut also mentioned how there are only a few films highlighting the achievements and sacrifices of the Northeastern people. He also spoke about Lachit Barphukan, a commander who laid his life fighting against the Mughals. Reminiscing of his youth, he also spoke about how he too was a part of the ABVP and that he felt surreal giving a speech there as a guest. The students presented at the event were also excited to see Om Raut. They were listening to him with rapt attention and also clicked a few pictures spoke to him one on one.
