It’s been more than two decades, Sandra Bullock has admitted that she has a huge crush on Keanu Reeves. And we understand that. There’s not a single person in this world who would hate this man! Reeves’ charisma, his stunts and action, his way of talking, most importantly his down to earth behaviour, everything makes us fall in love again and again.
However, Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves collaborated in two films till now, ‘Speed’ (1994) and ‘The Lake House’ (2006). ‘Speed’ is an action-thriller, whereas ‘The Lake House’ is a totally opposite, a fantasy romantic genre. It starred Bullock and Reeves as two anonymous lovers who would write each other letters, slowly falling for each other in the process.
Recently Sandra shared that after ‘Speed’s release, people were quite eager to watch the duo again and luckily they got ‘The Lake House’. She told MovieWeb, “It came out of nowhere. It came at us from two different directions. It was at a strange time and I was like, ‘I’m not ready to do this and I read it and I went wow!’ Actually, I found out about it through another director of mine, Paul Haggis, who said, ‘You should read this, it’s brilliant’.”
Although according to Bullock, she was hesitant to do the intimate scene, we have to admit it was an outstanding act by the duo.
In the interview, Bullock acknowledged that working with Reeves in ‘Speed’ was much different than ‘The Lake House’. At times, it could even be intimidating. “Well, I think it’s a little scary to get intimate. When you have an inanimate object like a bus and the action and energy outside of yourselves”, she further shared.
But did you know Keanu Reeves had also a crush on Bullock as well? She shared she had a crush on him since ‘Speed’s release, but that time she had no idea about it. Although the two remained great friends over the years, Bullock confirmed that they never dated despite the mutual attraction. Sandra shared that she felt getting together would have sabotaged their friendship. However, she agreed that she was also open to the possibility that it might have worked.
