Deepti Naval first short film releases online

Deepti Naval, one of the finest actors of our times from legendary films like ‘Chashme Buddoor’ (1981), ‘Saath Saath'(1982) and ‘Katha’ (1983) finally joins the order of Bollywood stars who have ventured into short films. ‘Neend’ (Sleep) belongs to a hardly explored genre – the poetrical. Film protagonist played by Deepti Naval puts restless people to sleep with the magic of her beautiful voice, except one man who hasn’t slept in twenty years.

This film is a quiet and thoughtful chamber piece designed around poetry, that unfolds in layers, beginning one night and ending in the next. This film on insomnia and mental health is directed by Subhajit Dasgupta.

Anurag Khanna, CMD, Six Sigma Films feels that coming together of Bollywood stars and new-age filmmakers has given a big boost to the short format of films.
