Countless Bollywood A-listers grace the premiere of Disco Dancer-The Musical in Mumbai

The stage music show ‘Disco Dancer-The Musical’ promises to bring back the grandeur of ’80s unforgettable songs, disco-style dancing and indelible dialogues to the audiences of all generations. The show is the adaptation of the iconic Mithun Chakraborty’s film ‘Disco Dancer’, which was released in 1982 and it had its grand premiere on April 14 in Mumbai.

The disco dance steps done by Mithun Chakraborty in the iconic film back then created a rage and so did the songs like “I Am A Disco Dancer”, “Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Aaja” and “Yaad Aa Raha Hai”. These tracks are still recalled fondly even after four decades.

The premiere of ‘Disco Dancer’ was attended by countless Bollywood A-list celebrities. Their presence made it a shimmering night with their alluring attire at the premiere. Mithun Chakraborty himself graced the occasion along with Suniel Shetty, who produced the show. The others present were Mithun’s son Namashi Chakraborty, Anu Malik, Salim and Sulaiman Merchant, Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar, Ahan Shetty, Sunny Leone, Tanuja, Uorfi Javed, Milap Zaveri, RJ Malishka, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Nikhil Dwivedi, among others.

The show ‘Disco Dancer-The Musical’ has been brought to the audiences by Suniel Shetty in association with Saregama Live. It’s been announced that the show has been launched to pay a Broadway style tribute to the legendary musician late Bappi Lahiri as the cult classic songs from the film were sung and composed by him.

The songs in the show are all re-created by composers Salim and Sulaiman Merchant. ‘Disco Dancer-The Musical’ has been regaling audiences in London at the West End theatre from past few days already.
