Ever since the film ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ went on floors, it can be assumed that Kingsley Ben-Adir has been enjoying every moment for sure. And why won’t he? After all, he has got the big chance to play the titular role of the reggae legend Bob Marley.

It’s been just three hours that Paramount Pictures dropped the much awaited teaser trailer of the legend’s biopic ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ and already, Ben-Adir has taken the internet by storm. As it’s a biopic, you all can guess the film will be showing us Bob Marley’s life and legacy.

The two-minutes-fifty-nine-seconds trailer exhibits a glimpse of Bob Marley’s several stages of life, from his struggles in Jamaica (his birth place) to his rise as a musician and later a global star. The trailer also shows Bob Marley’s singing in various concerts, receiving huge love from his fans across the globe, spending quality time with his family and more. Surprisingly, the trailer also shows Bob Marley’s assassination attempt, which he survived in 1976. In the end, the viewers are left seeing Kingsley saying the famous parting phrase of Bob Marley, “One love. One heart. One Destiny.”

Kingsley Ben-Adir seems to have given his fullest for such a big role. The make-up artists should be praised immensely for their hard work and getting Bob Marley get-up right. Those iconic long deadlocks, that rough skin, Kingsley’s adapting Marley’s speaking style, all seems too good.

Apart from Kingsley Ben-Adir, the film also stars Lashana Lynch as Bob Marley’s wife Rita Marley. Interestingly, Bob Marley’s son Ziggy Marley is the co-producer. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, whose last film ‘King Richard’ (2021) won an Oscar last year, the film is written by Zach Baylin, Frank E. Flowers and Terence Winter.

Distributed by Paramount Pictures, ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ is all set to rule the theatres on January 12, 2024.
