The much awaited ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ was finally released last Friday, November 11. The film is making waves at the box office as it has already collected $330 million globally with $150 million of that figure coming from fifty-five overseas markets, according to Variety.

Moreover, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ has also got impressive reviews from critics. Though it was almost impossible to replace the first one ‘Black Panther’, which was released in 2018, but that’s where the director Ryan Coogler took the challenge as co-writer. The first film was a blockbuster hit because of Chadwick Boseman, who played the titular role. After his death in 2020, Marvel fans across the world were super upset. They almost lost hope for ‘Wakanda Forever’. Hence it was quite challenging for the makers to rise up to fans’ emotions and since last weekend one can see that the film is excelling at the box office around the world.

But how can you expect such a prodigious film to go on smoothly without any controversies! Here’s what exactly happened. A few gay romantic moments in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ have been banned in Kuwait. Since the last few years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is making an effort to represent the LGBTQ+ community in their films.

The particular scene in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ features Michaela Coel’s character Aneka and Florence Kasumba’s Ayo sharing a brief tender moment after a battle. One of the characters kisses the other on the forehead and calls her baby. This scene has been reportedly cut in Kuwait and also in several other Middle-Eastern countries.
