Avatar 2 official title and release date unveiled

Yes you heard it right! The wait is finally over! James Cameron directorial ‘Avatar 2’ is now officially titled, ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’, which was announced yesterday, April 28 by the CinemaCon website. The first part of the franchise was released almost 13 years ago, in 2009.

The exciting news doesn’t end here! The makers have also treated fans with the first look along with the official trailer release date. As per The Hollywood Reporter, producer Jon Landau said, “We need to make sure audiences have an experience they can’t get anywhere else and that needs to be exclusively in theaters.”

‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’s trailer is going to release next week and the film will hit the theatres on December 16, 2022. Producer, Jon Landau also revealed that the original ‘Avatar’ will be again re-released on September 23, 2022 in theatres with restored pictures and sounds.

The leading actors are returning in the sequel such as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang and this time, the epic saga also features Vin Diesel and Kate Winslet.

It’s been reported that James Cameron, Jon Landau, 20th Century and Disney are going to offer ‘The Way Of Water’ in a wide variety of formats to support the range of theatre installation, which includes 3D, 4K and high frame rate of 48 frames per second. On Tuesday, April 26, CEO of National Association Of Theatre Owners, John Fithian announced, “ ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ will have more versions than any other movies in the history. We are talking about high resolution, high frame rates, 3D, Imax, PLF, different sound systems and in 160 different languages.”
