Anu Malik turns 61 today

When it comes to remembering the good old ‘90s songs, Anu Malik’s songs have always managed to come to our mind. From soulful and melodious tracks to peppy music beats, Anu Malik has always ruled the audience’s hearts. His forte lies in his versatility. He can compose a song for any situation.

The veteran music director has worked with all the legends of the Indian film industry such as Mohd. Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Mohd. Aziz, Anand Bakshi, Gulzar, Manmohan Desai, Gulshan Bawra, Rahat Indori and many more.

Today on 2nd of November, the famous Indian music composer-singer Anu Malik turns 61 years old. As a music director he has created several successful songs for the Hindi film industry. Anu Malik has got a career spanning over four decades in Bollywood and he has created more than 300 songs which are purely evergreen.

Among those songs, his few famous songs such as “Iss Pyaar Se Meri Taraf Na Dekho” from ‘Chamatkar’ (1992), “Baazigar O Baazigar!” and “Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen” from ‘Baazigar’ (1993), “Chura Ke Dil Mera” from ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ (1994), “Tan Tana Tan Tana Tan Tan Taara” from ‘Judwaa’ (1997), “Sandese Aate Hain” from ‘Border’ (1997), “Chamma Chamma” from ‘China Gate’ (1998), “Ek Garam Chaye Ki Pyali Ho” from ‘Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega’ (2000), “Gori Gori” and “Chale Jaise Hawayein” from ‘Main Hoon Naa’ (2004), “Moh Moh Ke Dhaage” from ‘Dum Lagake Haisha’ (2015) and many more songs are still remembered by all of us and we still cherish these songs in our playlists.

A lot of his songs have been recreated and are still lapped by the new generation. Despite all the hits, many of his soundtracks are also underrated from films such as ‘Jaanam’ (1993), ‘Ram Aur Shyam’ (1996), ‘Sapoot’ (1996), ‘Rahul’ (2001), ‘Saaya’ (2003), ‘Fareb’ (2005), ‘Umrao Jaan’ (2006) and many more.

His last outing as a music director was ‘Hungama 2’ (2021) where “Chura Ke Dil Mera 2.0” and “Chinta Na Kar” were hugely liked by audiences.

Anu Malik has also judged many singing reality shows such as ‘Indian Idol’ from the very first season and ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ show. He remains a living legend in the industry.
