Renowned music composer Anu Malik is now cleared of all charged against him as the National Commission for Women (NCW) closes the case. Sona Mohapatra and Shweta Pandit, openly made allegations of sexual misconduct against him and went on extensively to defame the music composer on social media. Neha Bhasin was the last one to join the bandwagon in 2019, which resulted in Malik’s sudden dismissal as one of the judges of the last season of Indian Idol.
Chairperson Rekha Sharma of the NCW said due to the lack of communication from the complainants and substantial evidences, the case is closed. According to her, Sona Mohapatra only provided media reports and did not even bother to come to their office.
Last December, Sona Mohapatra slammed trolls for claiming she wears slut clothes and then says #MeToo when she shared provocative swimsuit photos. The photos attracted the attention of many on social media, who heavily criticised her for posing in a swimsuit. A lot of her followers lost respect for her after the release of these photos. It has also been reported that she got into a Twitter spat with hairstylist and former Bigg Boss contestant Sapna Bhavnani.
According to close sources, the 59-year-old music director is now planning to take legal action against the accusers. He is married to Anju and they have two daughters, Anmol and Ada.
