In 2020, fans made a petition on Change.org to remove Amber Heard from ‘Aquaman 2’ and it surpassed its initial goal of 3 million signatures. Fans then expanded the petition to another goal of 4.5 million and recently it has already surpassed the 4 million mark. Fans all over the world are super annoyed and taking their anger out on Amber Heard for her alleged false accusations and defamation lawsuit against ex-husband, Johnny Depp due to which he lost his Captain Jack Sparrow role in next ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ franchise.

Now, Amber Heard has claimed that she is unsure that whether her role of Princess Mera will appear in the upcoming ‘Aquaman 2’ or not. The role was first introduced in ‘Aquaman’ in 2018 along with co-star, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and later in ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ in 2021. ‘Aquaman 2’s filming has been finished long ago and Heard was brought back, reprising her role.

Amber Heard has recently shared more details about her role with CBC News and said, “They released me from my contract. And, I fought to stay in it and they kept me in it. I just don’t know how much I’m in, actually, of the final cut.” She further added saying, “I don’t know if I will even be in the final cut or how much I will be. It was difficult to stay in the movie.”

According to Variety website, Heard bewailed that the production banner, Warner Bros. did not want her to be included in the film. Heard said, “I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoiler away, two characters fighting with one another, and they basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch out.”

Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard of $50 million for an opinion piece article on The Washington Post, where Heard described herself as a public figure, representing domestic abuse. Later, Heard counter-sued Depp of $100 million for smearing her a liar.

‘Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom’, directed by James Wan, starring Jason Momoa, William Dafoe, Nichole Kidman, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen 2, is all slated to release in 2023.
