After ‘Zinda’ (2006), director Sanjay Gupta took a seven year long sabbatical which ended with ‘Shootout At Wadala’ (2013). He followed it up with ‘Jazbaa’ (2015), which was publicised as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s comeback film. Though neither of these two films manage to create ripples at the box office, the director got the opportunity to make a film with one of the country’s biggest stars. Hrithik Roshan’s last clean hit was ‘Krrish 3’ (2013). If the trailer is any indication, it could turn out to be a huge hit which could benefit the actor and the director, whom success has eluded for some time now.

In a career spanning sixteen years, Hrithik has been overly choosy with his films. The actor has been mostly seen in films that project him as a larger than life hero. Though one sees him indulging in some heavy duty action in the latter part of the trailer, Rohan (the name of the character he plays) comes across as a regular guy who does not let his impairment come in the way of him seeking revenge from the wrongdoers.

The first part of the trailer has a breezy pace to it what with it giving one a glimpse into two individuals, suffering from the same impairment (blindness), falling in love and getting married. The pace and rhythm of the trailer once it introduces the two antagonists (played by Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy) who wreak havoc in the couple’s life. By the time the trailer comes to an end, you feel you have seen the events depicted in it, in several Hindi films in the past. But, the fact that the leading man is blind makes all the difference here. While the film seems to have all the trappings and masala of a regular revenge drama, a blind man seeking revenge brings in the novelty factor into the picture.

The film has a very massy appeal and with Sanjay Gupta’s penchant for taking stylised shots, one could well expect a visual treat that has dollops of entertainment in it as well.
