Aditi Rao Hydari has come to be known as Mani Ratnam’s blue-eyed girl. It is no secret that the director loves to cast Aditi in his projects and brings out the best in her. A great example of this is her Tamil film ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’ (2017), written, directed and produced by Mani Ratnam, which completes five successful years yesterday, April 7.

The actress played the role of Dr. Leela Abraham in the romantic war film and her performance in the movie was widely appreciated by critics and loved by fans. Today, she took to her social media to celebrate her five-year filmversary of ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’. She re-shared a post that tagged her talking about her performance in the movie.

The post said, “And more than anything this is the film where we got the chance to know a exquisite performer called @aditiraohydari. In a film having legendary technicians.. I ended up walking out the theatre as ADITI’s fan. The way she evinced as LEELA was so good that we can’t even describe that in words. From this to now, there’s no turning back in whatever @aditiraohydari chose to do… Each and every character that she picked to play after ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’ was exquisite to the core!”

The film left fans wanting to watch more of Aditi Rao Hydari on the big screen and she received three awards for her performance in the movie. The film starred Karthi in the role of Varun Chakrapani, opposite Aditi. The movie, produced by Madras Talkies has some memorable numbers composed by the music maestro A. R. Rahman.
